Shittim wood (Acacia) Cut in the Sinai Desert
![]() some trees that grew in an old quarry that is being cleared. These pieces are 3/4" x 3/4" x 5" -5.5" long. To understand more of why it is important see Exodus, Chapter 25 in the Bible Old Testament. We have had many requests over the years so we are very happy to be able to offer these to our customers, probably just at occasional intervals when we can get them. It can take years in between shipments. Certification is not available from the source (we asked but they said it was too much trouble for such a small number of blanks). WE HAVE NOW MADE OUR OWN CERTIFICATES FOR THIS WOOD. THEY ARE BASED ON OUR RECEIVING THEM FROM ISRAEL AND THE ASSURANCES THE SOURCE HAS GIVEN US. REQUEST THEM IN THE SHOPPING CART. Limited restock on 1/2020 NOTE: NOT AVAILABLE IN ANY OTHER SIZES not listed below. . ![]() ![]() Olivewood from BethlehemOlivewood from Bethlehem (These are from prunings, Sustainable harvest)

(Ceratonia siliqua) Carob is a beautiful wood mentioned in the Bible in Luke 15:16. The word "carat" comes from the carob tree seeds, which are very uniform in weight and were used to determine the weight of one "carat". The inside of the seedpods are used in modern times as a chocolate substitute.
