*pentracyl stabilization: means that this wood has been treated with a product that coats the cells inside the wood with a polymer that prevents degradation during drying. It is different than resin impregation, which tends to make the wood similar to plastic. This type of stabilization leaves the wood looking normal and lighter in weight than resin. Pentracryl does not fill holes or gaps. When finishing pentracryl treated items (they are marked with a "P" on the wood) wipe them with mineral spirits before applying your finish, allow a few minutes to dry, then apply your finish. This assures proper adhesion of the finish.
