origin:  Thailand

This is a beautiful rosewood from southeast Asia.  The color may be like that seen above or darker with deeper reds.  It can even be almost a cranberry red in some cases.  There is a nice variegation in some of the grain, too.  The picture above has been adjusted to more accurately show the depth of the color.
