Custom cut in USA, these are very uncommon on the market. Dried tulipwood bowl blanks are almost unknown. Usually the logs have a central crack which means you can only cut squares on either side of the crack, this unusual log did not have a central crack. The two big ones were cut from the same rare log. Tulipwood is no longer allowed to be exported from Brazil where it grows.
Notes: Pieces A and B each have one slightly rounded edge. Piece C might have a tiny check where the black line is near one edge. Most of the black line is not a check though. If it is there, this is like a one drop of superglue thing to fix.
No surprises: ALL four sides visible in photos:

Tulipwood is no longer allowed to be exported from Brazil where it grows. Pieces over 2 inch square are uncommon in tulipwood, especially now that imports have stopped 5 years ago. Dried squares like this are also very uncommon and almost never seen on the market. If you can find them, they are generally waxed with parrafin, wet and have some defects/checks hidden under the wax. No checks/cracks in our wood unless specifically noted.
Notes: A has two really tiny bark inclusions in the figured area, visible in photo above, B has a small round hole that goes through a corner (will turn off), 5 has a tiny divet visible in photo 3, no checks in any.
